Krista Muir (Musician/Recordist/Cultural Producer) and Laura Kelly (Radio host/DJ/Cultural Producer) met at CFRC radio in Kingston and quickly discovered a shared love of vintage clothes, music and curating unique events. Their debut collaboration at the Chelsea Motel will be an afternoon of live music and rare, vintage and classic grooves from the swinging 1960's. Sit back and listen to Les Chouettes (pop chanson) or jump up and enjoy DJ LK's set and learn some of the dance crazes that defined an era. Dress the part or come as you are - it’s all groovy. Ouéeee! And the beat goes on...Masks/safe distancing encouraged for optimal comfort and fun.

Les Chouettes bio:Krista Muir (Les Chouettes, Lederhosen Lucil) is a multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter who has been writing, recording and performing original music for over 20 years. During the first wave of the plague, Muir sent her misfit song Ha Ha Happiness to Fran Ashcroft (The Monos) in the UK. He sent it back with fuzz guitar and Les Chouettes was born! They've been musical pen pals and collaborators ever since. Their first EP Letter Lettre came out in September 2023 and continues down the 60's infused pop chanson road. Yé! Yé! To date Muir has released nine full length albums under various incarnations, several EPs/ singles, co-written and toured with Kid Koala, performed regularly at festivals like SXSW and Pop Montreal, collaborated several times with award winning filmmaker Kara Blake and scored an interactive operetta for Dailytouslesjours. She founded the Chanson-O-Gramme custom love song project in 2013 to provide a unique song commission service - creating and sending personalized odes honouring loved ones, pets, spirits, crushes, local businesses and beyond. She's still penning them today!Link to Letter Lettre EP:

DJ LK bio:DJ LK got her start in Kingston 20 years ago. Back then, you could catch her eclectic mixes over the airwaves and in downtown bars. From there she went on to hold residencies in Toronto at The Boat, where she played club kid classics, and at the Garrison where she focused on showcasing soul music with a then bourgeoning DJ Ciel. These days you can catch LK spinning all vinyl sets of disco, funk, post punk, glam and psych at venues like Toronto’s Little Jerry and The Embassy, and in Montreal at Sans Soleil and Poubelle Magnifique. For this mini tour, LK is going to be busting out only the best 60s pop and garage rock for you to groove to! All on vinyl! Come dance :)
