Sheesham and Lotus & 'Son | Sat, Nov 4 @ 9pm

Come witness an Old Time bombastic sound & vision explosion from the stage, deftly drawn from the canon of American folk & pre-war songs

Sheesham and Lotus & ‘Son are the fabulous old-time vehicle for the musical talents of Teilhard Frost (Sheesham Crow), Sam Allison (Lotus Wight) and Son Sanderson. Featuring fiddle, banjo and sousaphone alongside some musical contraptions of their own creation – the Sepia-phonic Monophone, and the Contrabass HarmoniPhoneum, their live show is a mix of old-time fiddle, depression era trad blues and some originals that takes you back to the 1920s heyday of the music they love, and it’s an experience that is not to be missed.

Using modern innovations of antiquity for the making of old-time sounds is the very core of Sheesham, Lotus and ‘Son. Jaw-harps and harmonicas ranging from bass to treble amplified by beautiful horns, driving rhythms and soaring sibling harmonies have made them highly prized by festivals and audiences throughout Europe and the Americas.

" Such an excellent show – those guys really know what they are doing and audience members were stunned – as if they were glimpsing another world" – Lauren Glasgow, The CatStrand Arts Centre, Scotland

"If there’s a more vintage / authentic act that’s so damn entertaining, then in 29 years as a music promoter, I ain’t seen them!" - Graham Anderson, Jumpin’ Hot Club, England
