"If you haven't seen Graven yet, you need to check him out...there's just this level of familiarity, and it kinda seems like the same level of pride that going to a (Tragically) Hip show has...He sings about listening to Matt Mays songs, he sings about traveling across Canada - it's just a really wonderful, comforting time."

"From beginning to end, Simple Complex is full of surprises. It transitions from the fuzz sound of a 1960s guitar to many different sounds throughout the album. With a strong vocal performance and stellar playing, Simple Complex is a brilliant album. And the beauty of the album is in its title. Complex, in many ways, but far from simple. McKechnie is an incredible talent, who has just delivered his best album."
-Aaron Badgley, Spill Magazine
“Really original and cool-ass cuts of music. Nostalgic!”
-Michael Rosenbaum (hollywood actor from Smallville/podcaster/comedian/musician)
"One of the best new strong records of 2022."
-John McDonald, Talking Albums Podcast (Surkeus Records Podcaster)
"It's fuzzy and warm and loud and quiet and sad; it's truly a time capsule of personal truth in a world of fakers."
-Liz Lettinger, KUND 89.3 FM, (University of North Dakota Radio DJ)
